Devadiga.com is a website which offers international platform for various activities of Devadigas all over the world. Devadigas are also called as Moily and Sherigar depending upon their nature of profession(kula kasabu). Devadigas are originally from the land of Lord Parashurama streching between Karwar in Uttara kannada district of Karnataka and Kasaragod district of Kerala in west-coast of India. The majority of population resides in undivided Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. Presently,Devadigas are scattered all over India,with major concentration in Mumbai , Maharashtra and Abroad.Devadigas are still playing a major role in Temple maintenance as supervisors(Devadiga/Moily) and also known as temple musicians(Sherigar). The mother tongue of Devadigas is Tulu in southern region and Kannada in northern region of coastal Karnataka.

Moodbidri, Aug 31: Congress candidate Ratnakar Devadiga was elected president of the town municipality while CPI (M) candidate and ‘beedi’ labourers’ activist Ramani was elected vice-president in the municipal elections held here on Monday August 30.
