joined Reliance Industries Ltd. as a management trainee in 1993. Being a team player and having a software background helped me make extensive use of the latest information and technology. I always believed in mastering my subject and delivering the goods in minimum given time. All charter flight coordination with regard to travel of Chairman and family member movements are well coordinated by my team. Honesty and integrity are the key ingredients of building trust with my superiors. I used to regularly update my Chairman and Executive Directors on the latest developments on Airport / Aviation related issues which could be adapted in RIL for the benefit of family members travel and the top management charter flight movement as time was always a crucial factor. Several initiatives of mine in structuring my department with the current projects were being recognized and my request of putting a team in place to handle various aviation function was sanctioned immediately after my presentation. These corporate management skills played a major role in my carreer growth. Most of my intiatives not only benefitted RIL but added to the social cause of benefitting the Indian aviation industry on the whole. Lot of our suggestions was well accepted by the then airport operator, AAI as it was in the interest of all air passengers. We have added one more feather to our cap by successfully activating the first Corporate Terminal for International Charter flights in India which will help all passengers travelling / arriving in their own private aircraft to enter / exit through this Terminal at Kalina thereby avoiding their travel to Sahar International Airport. Management skills came more out of practical experience in RIL than by attending a management school. Looking at the enthuthiasm of my team, our Chairman gave us a challenging project of building India’s first licensed surface heliport at our Thane office which we with the help of our engineering team executed this project in a record time of six months. There was no looking back since then and have completed three helipad projects with the fourth one in planning stage. I believe that a person should always have a Positive Mental Attitude(PMA) and always aim to be number one or two in their respective field. Be focused and give 200% at work, success is bound to come. Based on my experience, I feel a team leader should always fomcus on the three function of developing, motivating and boosting the morale of the team
