UAE DEVADIGA SANGHA

Devadiga Sangha Dubai, was formed in 1992 by the like minded group lead by former Presidents of Karnataka Sangha Dubai Sunder Devadiga & BG.Mohandas supported by late Sanjay Devadiga, Dinakar Attavar,Harischandra Devadiga & Anand Devadiga together with vibrant ladies of the community. During the initial years the Sangha had its gatherings in residences with 8 to 10 families and some bachelors. At present recognised as one of the senior community organisations, the group has grown to comprise more than 600 members.

The aim of this non-profitable organization is solely to help the less fortunate community members back home and in this part of the desert land. The Sangha already has a scholarship fund of 6 lacs, set up in Karnataka Rajya Devadigara Sangha, Mangalore and through this the Schlorships for the needy & talented students are being distributed every year since 1993. Apart from that a number of donation drives have been conducted to help people in distress here and to those who are suffering from medical reasons.

Harish Sherigar was unanimously elected president of Devadiga Sangha Dubai (UAE) by the gathered members during a meeting at Fortune Plaza Hotel, Qusais Dubai on Friday January 20 to form their executive committee.
