Today I would like to profile such a personality who is one of the successful leader as a General secretary of Devadiga Sangha,Bangalore, he is none other than Mr. K Chandrashekar who is a 'Sanghatana Chatura' and mainly responsible to conduct many events for Devadiga Sangha, Bangalore.
Mr. Chandrashekar currently working as a Branch Manager for Syndicate Bank, Bangalore, but he is a Livewire like a mercury in organising events and taking care of smooth functioning of Bangalore Devadiga Sangha. A true dynamic personality who believes in giving a personal touch in whatever task he takes up, especially during the Devadiga Sangha related activities. Bangalore Devadiga Sangha is blessed to have such a general secretary and he has raised the bar higher with his constant zeal and enthusiasm towards community building.
Mr. Chandrashekar was born in Kankanady, Mangalore and he is a post graduate in commerce and is married to Gayathri.. and his childrens are Diksha and Prathiksha.
Mr. Chandrashekar has contributed not only to devadiga community but he is a source of inspiration for many Club/Community/ Institutions, he has a illustrious rapport with many organisations and he is instrumental in building many community building initiatives. He was president of Rotaract Club of Mangalore center (1982-83) and later he become a Rotary district Head and hosted a highly successful district conference which included D.K, Mysore, Coorg, Chitradurga, Hassan, Shakleshpur, Udupi, Kundapur, Brahmavar. He coordinated initiatives from Syndicate Bank and Rotaract Club to electrify 51 houses and 18 women were given seiwing machines, as a part of their social commitment.
He has served numerous organisations as a General secretaries such as Canara High School- Parent Teacher Association, Mangalore (1996,1997, 1998) He was instrumental in development of the Bastigarden Higher Primary school, Mangalore and Secretary of Rajendranagar Kannada Balaga Delhi (2003). He is distinguished executive committee member of Delhi Karnataka Sangha (2003-2004) and he organized various events related to Kannada language promotion and upliftment.
He has proved his mettle becoming probably the only General secretary who has a distinction of becoming General secretary of both Mangalore and Bangalore Devadiga Sangha.
He successfully completed his tenure as a General Secretary of Karnataka Rajya Devadiga Sangha, Mangalore during 1997-99 and presently he is serving as a General Secretary of Devadiga Sangha Bangalore (2007 onwards). In a capacity as General Secretary he has coordinated with other office bearers in organising many novel and innovative events and he is very encouraging towards the initiatives taken by the Youth and Women’s’ wing of the Devadiga Sangha.
A smooth polite talker and a pleasing personality is his hallmark. He adores Dr. M Veerappa moily as a role model and constantly derives inspiration from his thought process, he is one of the positive thinker in Bangalore Devadiga Sangha, who is currently nurture a dream to build a Building of Bangalore Devadiga sangha. Along with Dynamic leadership with Mr. Raghu sherigar and other officer bearers Mr. Chandrashekar has been sincerely working towards a common goal to build a beautiful building for Devadiga Sangha, Bangalore.
Mr. Chandrashekar was honored for his contribution towards society, by Shri Shri. Vishweshwara thirtha swamiji of udupi pejavar mutt in the year 1990 for service for Bala samrakshna kendra, kutharpadvu. Felicitation by Dr. Shivarama Karantha in Mangalore and also Dr. Veerendra Hegde of Dharmastala has honored Mr. Chandrashekar for his organising skill in Karnataka sangha New Delhi.
