Bangalore, Oct 29, 2007: Eminent Neurosurgeon Dr K V Devadiga, who is well known community leader & who spearheaded the process of of re building the historic Devadiga Samaj Bhavan & the community image itself, has been awarded the prestegious Karnataka State Rjyotsava Award 2007.

It may be recalled here that when the Mangalore Devadiga Sangha was in shambles due to controverises and scandals, personlities like Dr.Devadiga came forward to clean the image of the Sangha by mobilizing support & funds as the Chairman of Building Committee along with the ohter sincere Team and present President and his Committee. Kudos.
On this great occasion we wish Dr.K.V.Devadiga all the success, happiness and peace in years to come.

The Karnataka Government has chosen 51 persons for the coveted Rajyotsava Award for the year 2007. The awardees include 100-year-old folk medicine expert Ghaini Lal Singh Jamakar, noted journalist T J S George, Film Producer Parvathamma Rajkumar, actor Anant Nag, International Kabbadi player B P Suresh and World Billiards and Snooker Champion Pankaj Advani among the 51 personalities selected for the award.

I M Vittala Murthy Secretary of Kannada and Culture Department announcing the list of awardees said that the 51 awardees have been selected out of 552 nominations, by the selection committee headed by poet Dr G S Shivarudrappa and approved by Governor Rameshwar Thakur. The award carries a memento and gold medal and will be presented on November 1, the State Reorganisation day.
