Dr. Harin S. Ullal (right), National Center for Photovoltaics, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, Colorado and Dr. Jeff Britt, V.P. Technology, Global Solar Energy, Tucson, AZ were part of the team that won the prestigious R&D 100 Award. The Award winning activity was the development of "Lightweight, Flexible, Thin Film CIGS Photovoltaic Modules". The Award ceremony was held at the Navy Pier, Chicago, IL; October 14. Awards are given to the 100 most significant scientific and technological innovation for 2004 in the United States. Hearty congratulations to the great Scientist of our community.

Dr.Ashok N Ullal has taken over as the Dean of Academic Affairs at S.P.Jain Center of Management Dubai. After a distinguished career as a Professor for Information Systems, Business Simulations and Intercultural Communication and Negotiation and as the Dean of the School of International Business, Reutlingen, Germany, he decided to assist in establishing the new Center of Management that was started by the well-known S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, India. Our 2004 Topper's Cash award's sponsor is unusually a very young person with an elite sir name in our community named 'Namadhari'. He is very much an inspiring youngster who is very keen to involve himself in the community service. A year back he offered his services to develop our web site to make it evolve itself as a professional site. On this regard when I narrated him the need for a sponsor for the cash prizes for the 12th Std Toppers he readily agreed. He is Mr.Mohan Namadhari a Software Engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions Pvt. LTD. Bangalore , currently based at Phoenix, USA. Born on the eve of Christmas 1975, Mr.Mohan is S/o Shri.Narayan C Namadhari of Kansur Village,Siddapur,North Kanara,Karnataka. After his early education at his native place, he did his Engineering Degree in 1998 from SDM College Of Eng. & Tech Dharwad. Mr.M.Namadhari started his career in mid of 1999 at Mumbai and later on moved to Bangalore to find the better and challenging career path. He passionately remembers his parent's vision and sacrifices in educating himself and his brothers & sisters. He has 3 brothers and 3 sisters. All three sisters are elder to him and youngest of them is serving as a teacher- a noble profession. He also recalls the financial hardship the family suffered which forced two of his elder brothers to say goodbye to their education to support the last two brother's education. He & his elder brother Suresh who incidentally also did his Engineering in the same College, both succeeded to find a career in Software. Mr.Suresh is also settled at B'lore. Their two elder two brothers are now looking after their land at home town.
