At the recently held TALENTS DAY organised by the Karnataka Sangha Dubai. Mr.Dilip Kumar of our community was awarded the 1st Prize in Solo Dance Competetion.

Dilip is a Hardware Engineer works at Cute Computers Dubai and he hails from Moodabidri. He is married to Mrs.Kavitha Devadiga & has a baby named Moksha!

He was trained by Master Vittal Shetty in Bhartanatyam.

While the community is ga ga with the arrival of a first Film Actress of our comminty in the Bollywood; a young school girl of  Mumbai Kum.Poorvi has alreaded performed in the 3 Hindi Movies!. Wah! Wow!! you may say!. Yes; the devadiga.com learnt that Kum.Poorvi has acted as a child artist in movies like "Kuch NA Kaho". 'Arbacadabra and in the forthcoming much awaited mega release' Rasing'.

Kum.Poorvi is a student of 6th Std at Sharon English School Mulund and trains in Casber Academy of Music * Dance.She is the daughter of Mrs.Geetha Shriyan  and the Grand daughter of Sri.S.K.Sriyan a leading community social worker, past president and the prestn Vice President of Devadiga Sangha Mumbai.

We visulise;  5 years from now when Poorvi becomes a Star in her own right she may remark to the press "When Sneha Ullal became a 'Lucky' Ullal, I was in 6th Std and I am eager to see such a beutifull famous Star from our commnity!'

We are pleased to announce that Mr.Laxmidas Rao, the fromer Cricket Captain of Mangalore Zone and Mangalore University who is now serving as the "Commercial Officer' for Baskin Robbins, Dubai has been selected as the 'Group Employee of the Month'. This news is very special because the award is decided among the employees of the whole Galadari Group for the month of April.

Dubai: Smt Yashoda Devadiga W/o Sri.Sheena Devadiga, Prop.Udupi Restaurant Dubai won the 1st Prize at the Cookerey Competetion held by the Karnataka Sangha Dubai recently. The open to all Kannadiga event attracted large no of participants. However the culinay skills of Yashoda in cooking the Cauliflower Manchurian Dry as most tastiest, innovative and well presented veg dish was the star dish and has been awarded the 1st Prize.

The Sangha President Mr.C.R.Shetty distributed the prize and Ladies wing Secretary organised the successfull event.

Congratulation Mrs.Yashoda Devadiga we are waiting to taste the not only Cauliflower dish but many more Kundapur style Chciken dishes!.

Well known Artist of Udupi Mr.K.Sanjeeva Sherigar honoured by the Governer of Karnataka-Padmabushana Sri B.N.Chathurvedi and Dharmadhikari Dr.D.Veerendra Heggade of Sri Khestra Dharmasthala on the Occasion of the Prize distribution of "Anche Kuncha" State level Painting Competetion held at Dharmasthala on 4th may 2005.

The famous businessman of our community from Mumbai Sri.Suresh D Padukone has built India's tallest statue of Lord Aanjaneya at Hangaloor near Kundapur. As per the 'Inspiration from God', Mr.Suresh hailing from Padukone of Kundapur Tk and wife Smt.Shantha has been involved with this mamoth project very quietly without any publicity. This cement structure is being built by the famous sculptor Mr.Narayana Rao of Shimoga.

The 'Prathistapane' of  82 ft statue of Sri Prasanna Aanjaneya will be held on 19th May at 9.30 AM by Dharmadhikari Dr.Sri.Veerendra Heggade. On May 18th & 19th many relegious functions will be held and on 19th afternoon 'Maha Anna Sanptharpane' programme is being planned
