Mrs. & Mr.Sunder Devadiga celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary Source :
Dubai: One of the dynamic Mangaloreans who teamed with enthusiastic kannada activists way back in 80"s & started the first Kannadiga platform named Karnataka Sangha Dubai and took over its saddle as the 2nd President is none other than our own Sri. Sunder Devadiga Konchadi father of Mr.Dinesh Kumar Dubai.
Mrs. Sindu S Devadiga & Sri Sunder Devadiga celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on 8th May 2010 at Mangalore. It was a quite affair as he was silently ill those days.
Mayor Shankar Narayan Bhat attended the function .
The family decided to perform Satyanarayana pooja at Hill Crest, Derebail Konchady Mangalore. Their children, most of the relatives and friends attended this ceremony.
One can fondly recall that Mr.Sunder Devadiga was instrumental to inspire the formation of formal Devadiga Forum at Dubai and under his behest the maiden event was held at another veteren Mr.Harishchnadra's house at Bur Dubai on on 31-12-1992.
Later retired as NRI he was enthusiastically got involved with Devadigara Sangha Mangalore with a sincere motive to work for the down trodden in the community. However he was sidelined by then Big Wigs who were scared that their hidden agenda will be exposed by this retired Dubai gentleman!. Rest is History which still remains as the dark pages in this oldest Sangha's life story.
We wish Sunder & his belowed wife a peaceful, happiest and spiritual years ahead.

I was the lucky one to be there in konchady for pooja. Me and my cousins owe a lot to you. He is a roll model for us in Muchur, the way he handled things, be it temple affairs, bhoota kolas, or even property settlements.
With the upper caste being active in Muchur, if it was not for him devadigas were not existent. He fought for our rights. His absense now in Muchur affairs has left a huge void and is irreplacable.
We pray for his good health and happiness!

I am happy to see this article and would have considered extremely lucky if I were present. A VERY HAPPY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO THE GENTLEMAN WHOM I HAVE SEEN AS AN ACTIVE MEMBER BEFORE HIS DEPARTURE IN 1993 AT THE INITIAL DAYS OF MY ARRIVAL.
LATER IN 1996 & 1998 I HAD A VERY CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH HIM IN MANGALORE WHO WAS VERY FIT IN THOSE DAYS & HAD REVEALED TO ME THAT YOGASANAS(SOME SORT OF BREATHING TECHNIQUE) HAD KEPT HIM ACTIVE IN THOSE DAYS.VERY RECENTLY I UNDERSTOOD THAT HE WAS NOT KEEPING FIT WHICH MADE ME REALISE THAT OLD AGE STARTED CREEPING IN. I PRAY AND WISH HIM & HIS WIFE MANY MORE YEARS OF HAPPY LIFE TOGETHER.
