Mumbai: Vijay Devadiga is appointed as Company Secretary of Blue Star Limited, Mumbai with effect from 1st June 2015.
Vijay Devadiga is a Post Graduate in Commerce, Law Graduate and an Associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He has a diverse experience of over twenty years in the industries of pharmaceuticals, BPO, IT & ITES, media, retail and real estate, as an in-house counsel and company secretary.
His core functional areas include board and governance processes, corporate compliance, investors servicing, mergers & acquisitions, contract management, transactional advisory, intellectual property rights and litigation.
He has worked with Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. (BCCL), the flagship company of the Times Group, one of the largest media conglomerates of India, as a senior member of its corporate legal team based at its head quarters in Mumbai. He spear headed several initiatives in BCCL’s legal and secretarial function during his seven year’s stint, including settlement of critical litigation, negotiation of large contracts, implementation of compliance processes and protection of IPR.
During his tenure with 3i Infotech Limited, a part of ICICI Bank group, he played key role in board and governance processes, investor servicing, IPO, FCCB offering and various M&A deals. In his stint with RPG Life Sciences Limited, he had handled the secretarial processes in board and general meetings, rights issue, investors servicing and statutory & legal compliances.
He had officiated as a company secretary in Times Guaranty Limited (Times Group), e-Nxt Financials Limited (Tata Group), West Pioneer Properties Private Limited (Hardcastle Group) and Mrinal Dyeing & Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Nahata Group). He had also handled assignments in the areas of finance & accounts, income tax, excise and sale tax, in the beginning of his career.
He is married to Ms. Kamini, who is a law graduate. His daughter, Vyomini is a primary school student. He hails from a respectable family in Bijoor, Karnataka. His father, Late Shri Shesha M. Devadiga had his own business and his mother, Smt. Abbakka S. Devadiga is a homemaker.
